Climate change demands urgent action from us to limit adverse effects, yet at the same time we need to adapt to the shifts already underway. Adjusting to the current conditions requires innovative strategies in the way we manage and use public space, to create inviting spaces that remain connected to the sensuality of nature through fluctuating seasons. We developed a collection of urban furniture responding to weather conditions in different climatic zones. These devices extend the window of comfortable outdoor conditions and enhance the quality of public space. The collection of furniture, SIT TOGETHER, initially consists of four benches designed in reaction to four climatic zones, namely the mediterranean zone, the temperate zone, the arid zone, and the tropical zone. Each bench intelligently utilises material properties in response to the local weather conditions to create inviting seating where people can come together in the face of ongoing climatic changes.
